ARRIVAL IN LIMA

Arrival in Lima, upon arrival at the Lima airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay in Lima.

Culinary & CITY TOUR LIMA

Today you will discover the secrets of Peruvian cuisine. Our culinary adventure begins in a typical “Peruvian market”. Where you will find a wide range of Peruvian products and enjoy unique fruits such as “chirimoya”, “lucuma”, “aguaymanto” and “pacae”. We will visit the exclusive restaurant, where an expert bartender will teach you how to prepare the famous “Pisco Sour”. The chef of the restaurant will prepare with you the delicious “Ceviche” a typical Peruvian dish. Then you will have a delicious lunch with the most representative dishes of Peruvian cuisine.
In the afternoon we will explore Lima and its majestic past. This excursion offers the best combination of various attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: the pre-latino, colonial and contemporary periods. Lima has known several pre-Columbian cultures dating back thousands of years, but Lima was also part of the Inca Empire. However, Lima was only founded in the year 1535 by the Spaniard Francisco Pizarro. During our tour, we will travel along Lima’s millennial history. Overnight Lima.

LIMA - TRUJILLO

You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the airport in Lima. This morning you will travel by domestic flight to the beautiful colonial city of Trjillo. Spend the rest of your day at your leisure. Taste traditional Trujillo flavors, or enjoy the amenities in your comfortable hotel. Overnight in Trujillo.

Trujillo

Embark on a morning journey to explore the ‘Huaca del Sol y la Luna’ and its captivating history. Discover the legendary Huaca del Sol, constructed in just three days with an astonishing 70 million adobe bricks. Nearby, the ‘Huaca de la Luna’ showcases ancient paintings of the revered Ai Apaec God.

Continuing our journey, delve into the mysteries of the sacred ‘Huaca Dragon,’ a temple dedicated to the Rainbow, believed to have served as a ceremonial center associated with fertility rites. Adorned with intricate depictions of dancing warriors and mythical creatures, the temple provides insight into the rich cultural tapestry of the region. Conclude the morning expedition at picturesque Huanchaco beach, known for its colonial-era church and traditional ‘Caballitos de Totora’ straw boats. Rest overnight in Trujillo.

Trujillo - chiclayo

Travel to Chiclayo to explore the ‘Tumbas Reales’ Museum ( closed on Mondays), a remarkable architectural feat reminiscent of an ancient pyramid. This modern museum-mausoleum complex is designed to transport you back in time to the era of ancient temples. Discover the resting place of the Lord of Sipán and his entourage as you immerse yourself in the rich history of the region. Relax and unwind with an overnight stay in Chiclayo, ready to continue your adventure the next day.

CHACHAPOYAS

Today, our journey begins with a visit to the intriguing ‘Pueblo de los Muertos’. Following this, we’ll embark on a scenic 30-minute drive from Chachapoyas to the charming village of Caclic. From there, we’ll venture onto a side road, descending 300 meters over the course of about 1½ hours, until we reach the breathtaking cliff top at Cruz Pata. Here, perched on the edge of the cliff, awaits the enigmatic sarcophagi of Karajia. These ancient burial chambers, adorned with intricate geometric figures, are believed to hold the remains of esteemed chieftains and perhaps their families. The mystery surrounding how the ancient Chachapoyas constructed these remote burial sites continues to captivate historians and travelers alike. After immersing ourselves in the wonder of these archaeological treasures, we’ll return to Chachapoyas for a peaceful night’s rest. Includes: Breakfast, Lunch..

KUELAP

Join us for a day of exploration at the awe-inspiring Fortress of Kuelap. With over 400 buildings nestled within three tiers of walls, Kuelap stands as the largest stone structure in South America. Its towering walls, reaching a height of 19 meters, boast narrow and tapering entrances, indicative of its defensive design. However, recent archaeological findings suggest that Kuelap served primarily as a religious and ceremonial center. Adorned with orchids and bromeliads, the fortress exudes natural beauty amidst its historical grandeur. Along the way, we’ll also marvel at the platforms of Macro, perched on a cliff overlooking the Utcubamba River. After our explorations, we’ll return to Chachapoyas for the night. LEYMEBAMBA

On our journey to Leymebamba, we’ll encounter the vibrant gravehouses of Revash. These mausoleums, resembling miniature villages, are clustered together, creating a captivating sight akin to the cliff-houses of Colorado. Continuing on, we’ll arrive at Leymebamba to explore the remarkable collection housed in the Museum Centro Mallqui, featuring pre-Inca mummies unearthed from the Lagoon of the Condors.

Gocta waterfalls

Embark on a scenic three-hour hike leading you to the base of the majestic waterfall. Along the narrow paths, you’ll encounter a rich tapestry of flora and fauna, adding to the enchantment of the journey. Nestled amidst stunning geography and rich history, you’ll discover a truly magical spot awaiting your exploration. Capture the beauty with photographs or immerse yourself in the refreshing waters for a rejuvenating experience. Later, retire to the comfort of Gocta Lodge for a tranquil overnight stay. Private transfer from Gocta toTarapoto (approx. 8 hours).

Nestled within the lush rainforest. Immerse yourself in the wonders of the jungle as you traverse a winding trail, offering insights into the rich biodiversity of the forest. In the afternoon, indulge in the cocoa and chocolate route, an immersive experience delving into the origins of these delectable treats. As night descends once more, set out on another thrilling nocturnal wildlife excursion.

Start your day with a visit to the artisan paper workshop, where you’ll witness the traditional craftmanship of the region. Later, bid farewell to the serene surroundings as you’re chauffeured by Bosque Guardián Lodge’s private vehicle to Tarapoto Airport, concluding your unforgettable journey amidst the wonders of the rainforest.
